Yes, basic insurance is included with an excess of Rs 25,000 (~$550 USD) applicable only in case of at-fault accident. This is a standard figure for Mauritius car rentals. Optional excess waiver add-ons are available. Ask us about these when you book.

1. Make a short video with pictures of the accident
2. Mark the road with yellow chalks (half circle around tyres of vehicles implicated and write their plate number on the road)
3. Park the car on a safe side not to cause disturbance to traffic
4. Notify the rental company immediately and ask for guidance
5. Fill in the accident form
6. Inform the nearby police station if needed
